What is it?

Orchestras are groups of musicians that play instruments together. Orchestras usually play classical and instrumental music, and are broken down into four main instrument families: strings, such as violins and cellos; woodwinds, like flutes and clarinets; brass, like trumpets and trombones; and percussion, like bass and snare drums. Orchestras play concerts all over the world, and often record music for musical production.

IS IT RIGHT FOR

ME?

Do you love to play and listen to music?
Do you have an ear for sound?
Do you like presenting in front of other people?

What will I do?

Orchestra musicians are classically trained musicians who rehearse, perform, and record
music with an orchestra. Studying orchestra prepares students to become musicians, in
demand throughout the world wherever classical music is played, such as concert halls or churches. Studying performing arts helps students not only become professionals within their area of expertise, but is also helpful outside of the stage as well, giving students confidence and helping them develop their creative and leadership skills.
