Hyunsoo Susan An is a passionate educator and dedicated advocate for Career Technical Education (CTE). She has proudly served the Inglewood Unified School District since 2004. While teaching at Oak Street TK-8 School, she helped launch Project Lead the Way programs, including Medical Detectives, Robotics, and eSports. She now serves as an Instructional Coach at Centinela TK-8 School, working to ensure equitable access to high-quality CTE experiences.
Her two years of participation in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment Institute reflect her strong commitment to expanding opportunities for students. This experience deepened her understanding to help students gain the access and preparation necessary to thrive in the creative workforce. Ms. An is dedicated to laying strong foundations that prepare students to transition smoothly into comprehensive CTE pathways in high school.
She believes early exposure to CTE in the K-8 setting helps students build essential academic and transferable technical skills that play an integral role in the overall academic experience and contribute to improved academic success. Her vision is to create an environment where students explore diverse career fields, discover their strengths and interests, and develop the intrinsic motivation to take ownership of their learning. By connecting classroom content to real-world applications through engaging, hands-on experiences, she strives to make learning purposeful, inspiring, and empowering.
