Alfa Lopez

Alfa Lopez was born in Mexico. Recently, she graduated from Loyola Marymount University (LMU) with a Master of Arts in Transformative Education, having also obtained a Teaching Credential from the same institution in 2024. Currently, she is a Spanish Teacher at Inglewood High School and a GED Instructor at West Los Angeles College (WALC).


Proud alumnus of California State University Long Beach (CSULB), where she earned a Master's in Spanish with an emphasis in Literature and a minor in Latin American Studies in August 2022, following a B.A. in Spanish in December 2019. While pursuing her Master's in Spanish, she worked as a Teaching Associate of Spanish, which enriched her teaching experience.


She has a background in Early Childhood Education from La Petite Academy, supported by an Associate in Arts in Child Development obtained from Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC). Her research focuses on Culturally Responsive Education, valuing students' cultural diversity and creating environments that affirm their identities.


As a devoted mom of two daughters and a first-generation student, she is motivated to advance in her career. Her hobbies include reading, decorating, and traveling. Alfa possesses skills in creativity, particularly in visual arts and crafts, which she integrates into her teaching methodologies to enhance student engagement and learning.
